The festival also offers a diverse supporting program in the picturesque old town of Schaffhausen.

The Jazz Festival Schaffhausen was founded in 1990 and is dedicated to the field of Swiss jazz and improvised music. Every year in May, about 10 groups perform over four days at the Kulturzentrum Kammgarn, allowing an in-depth examination of the local jazz scene and its developments. This concept differs from many European jazz festivals that follow international artists. The festival offers a platform for musicians of different styles from the current Swiss jazz scene.
