All your senses at once

Schaffhausen is full of contrasts. Between markets and boutiques, street food and museums, bars and stages - everything is just a few steps away, and always worth taking a detour.

Hello Foodies!

Anyone who thinks there's no fine dining in small towns should take a second bite - the region around Schaffhausen features multiple GaultMillau award-winning restaurants. And at our regional festivals, such as "Wild und Wein" (game and wine), good food is celebrated for days.

A special treat every year is the Blauburgerland Gourmet Festival, where you can discover the culinary gems of the countryside and the city. There's always something for everyone.

Farmers' market fresh

The best flavors come from just around the corner: heritage grape varietals from regional vineyards, local vegetables, fruits and eggs from surrounding farms, and meadow flowers fresh from the field. Our markets offer the bounty of the region - and time for a pleasant chat.

No two evenings alike

«Life is full of choices» – Cuba Bar's motto is reflected in its changing live DJs, and in the diverse nightlife of the whole Schaffhausen region. There's dancing at Kammgarn, or cocktails with a view of the Rhine Falls in the RIVI Skyfall Bar. Or take in a movie - the KIWI cinema shows a curated selection of modern and classic films.

When everything fits

Shopping in Schaffhausen is special: small stores line the streets offering everything from wool, spices, and books to sustainable fashion. In between, there are second-hand shops, concept stores, and a flower shop where you can drink coffee amongst the bouquets. There's no mall in the downtown - but it's full of character and atmosphere.

Take a look inside!

Discover archaelogical treasures, marvel at old masters, meet new artists, look over the shoulders of skilled watchmakers, or feel like a giant in miniature worlds. A special highlight in Schaffhausen's landscape of museums: the torchlight tours in the Museum zu Allerheiligen.

For everyone who works hard in their job and wants to slow down in their free time, try a walk from Neunkirch through the vineyards to the Bergtrotte in Osterfingen. There's good food, breathtaking views and sometimes even a good concert. There's hardly a better way to spend a day off.

Stars in Town

A small town with a global reach

What do Rita Ora, Alice Cooper and James Blunt have in common? They all love Schaffhausen. Once a year, the Herrenacker becomes a big stage, with the world's stars taking over the Old Town.
