At the end of the 1990s, a spirit of optimism could be felt throughout the canton. After years of crisis, the WERS project had provided initial impetus with location development measures such as business promotion. Now it was time to convince new companies of Schaffhausen's potential.
Economic crisis, negative mood, lack of prospects: In the 1990s, the Canton of Schaffhausen was caught in a negative spiral with high unemployment, emigration and falling tax revenues. Thanks to an active location policy, the story took a different course. Today, Schaffhausen can look back on an economic success story.
For over ten years, Christos Asimakopoulus has been engaged as an ambassador for Schaffhausen as a business location. He explains and promotes the advantages of Schaffhausen and also contributes new ideas. He received the "Area for Makers Ambassador" Award 2024 at the Business Leader Event in recognition of his current and future commitment to Schaffhausen’s economy.
