Security as the foundation of availability
Data centers never sleep, nor do communication networks - and government IT infrastructures certainly don’t either. This is exactly where Vertiv comes in: The U.S.-based company, with a location in Neuhausen am Rheinfall, is a global leader in critical infrastructure technologies - for data centers, communication networks, and industrial applications.
Vertiv supplies the key technical components needed for reliable operation: power supply, power distribution, cooling, IT infrastructure, as well as services and spare parts. This offering is currently in high demand - with the rapid rise in AI usage, the number of data centers is growing, and with it the need for infrastructure investment.
The economic development agency successfully convinced Vertiv to choose Schaffhausen as its location in 2024. Since early 2025, the company has been based in Neuhausen am Rheinfall, where it operates a headquarters serving the European market, the Middle East, and Africa. From this location, market strategies, operational processes, and the supply of critical systems for an entire continent are managed. Vertiv chose Schaffhausen because the location combines stability with short distances, explains Vice President of Marketing Stefano Mozzato - close to core European markets, with a strong talent pool and a reliable regulatory environment.
The approximately 25 employees on the Schaffhausen team ensure that systems in data centers around the world are up and running and that parts arrive where they are needed. Procurement, distribution, installation, maintenance - the entire lifecycle is coordinated from Neuhausen. The canton’s economic development agency played a key role in this process - from the initial site evaluation to the present day. “The economic development agency was instrumental in helping us successfully establish ourselves here - and is an important partner as we continue to expand the company in the region,” says Mozzato.

“Schaffhausen is an
attractive location: thanks to the support provided by the economic development agency, the skilled workforce, and the reliable business environment.”
