The Schaffhausen Institute of Technology (SIT) is changing its name and will become the Constructor Group at the end of November 2022. The new name reflects SIT's evolution into a global ecosystem with partnerships in industry as well as universities and students in over 100 countries. Since its founding (2019) in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, Schaffhausen Institute of Technology SIT has grown rapidly to become a global organization with over 700 employees from more than 17 countries, operations in nine countries, over 1800 students and over 6000 alumni from more than 110 countries. In the form of a change of name, the Schaffhausen Institute of Technology (SIT), as well as Jacobs University (JUB), will be merged into the new "Constructor Group". As a global institution dedicated to the creation of knowledge through research, science, education and technology. The Constructor ecosystem includes Constructor University, a research-focused higher education organization that offers more than 25 accredited degree programs ranging from bachelor's to master's to Ph.D. degrees. The private, English-language university has an institute in Schaffhausen as well as the former Jacobs University in Bremen. Thanks to digital and hybrid study formats and partnerships with top-tier universities around the world, such as Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Geneva, Constructor University is expanding into a global campus - with roots in Schaffhausen. The Swiss Digital Days of digitalswitzerland are making a stop in Schaffhausen for the first time this year. From 19 to 23 September 2022, eleven companies and organizations will show how the region is implementing the digital future. From workshops and panel discussions to a hackathon for young talents, they offer a versatile insight. How digital is Schaffhausen? The Swiss Digital Days 2022 Schaffhausen will make digitalization in the Schaffhausen region tangible and perceptible during one week. The attractive programme offers all interested parties the opportunity to actively exchange ideas with the local economy and the public sector and to get to know the diverse topic. Together we are shaping the digital future Five days, eleven companies and organizations, eleven events and over 20 speakers: together they make the digital future of Schaffhausen visible. Whether family courses on future technologies by go tec!, a Wikipedia writing workshop by the Schaffhausen public library, or a networking event on gender and generational diversity organized by Citrix. The programme offers everyone an interesting insight into digital Schaffhausen. The activities invite you to exchange, discuss or discover. Programme highlight on Wednesday afternoon, 21 September The programme highlight is Wednesday, 21 September. In the afternoon different events will take place at the fish market in front of St. Johann (Vordergasse, City of Schaffhausen) in a specially designed event location in the form of a "bubble". It will start with herHACK 20.22, a hackathon especially for women. The Schaffhausen start-up scene is also involved in the programme. The StartHub will present agile start-up methods in a workshop. This will be followed by a panel discussion on the topic of New Work. The question "How does digitalisation influence our everyday working life?" will be the focus. After a short opening speech by the Mayor Peter Neukomm and representatives of the four main sponsors Acronis (Candid Wüest), Citrix (Oliver Kirchner), Georg Fischer (Jürg Scherrer) and the City of Schaffhausen (Ramon Göldi) will discuss various aspects of a hybrid working world. On Wednesday, there will also be an event on the role of artificial intelligence in everyday business. The ITS Industry and Technology Centre and the company raqoon will present digital assistants in short presentations, which participants can try out immediately afterwards. Parallel to the programme in the bubble, you can experiment with various digital applications throughout the day. One of the highlights is surely a virtual application from GF. You can test this yourself in the visitor centre with VR glasses. Cantonal eGovernment Day in the Pavilion in the Park In keeping with Schaffhausen's Digital Week, the 13th eGovernment Day will take place on Thursday, 22 September, organised by KSD Schaffhausen. It's all about digital collaboration: between managers and their employees, within the administration and digital collaboration with the citizens of Schaffhausen. Schaffhausen is driving change. The region is already thinking about the digital chances of tomorrow. Schaffhausen's companies and organisations have a lot to offer and will make this a one-to-one experience for the Schaffhausen population during the Schaffhausen Digital Days 2022.
