AgTech
innovation in the field
Closely linked with our FoodTech and Mobility ecosystems and our cluster of firms in the chemistry field, Schaffhausen's AgTech scene is blossoming. Thanks to on-the-ground engagement from major industry players AGCO and GVS, the Swiss federal agriculture research entity Agroscope, and the industry advisory center AGRIDEA, Schaffhausen offers infrastructure for piloting agricultural technology and networks for expanding your market reach.
Swiss Future Farm
The Swiss Future Farm provides the opportunity to test agricultural technology in the field, offering arable fields, grassland, livestock and a biodiversity area within its infrastructure. The Swiss Future Farm has hosted and tested machines for planting, pest control, fertilization, and harvesting, sensors and cameras for weather and soil surveillance and data collection, and software and systems for farm management. A joint project of industry players AGCO and GVS Agrar and educational provider Arenenberg, the Swiss Future Farm is supported by the Cantons of Schaffhausen and Thurgau and the federal research entity Agroscope.

Experimental Station for Smart Technologies in Agriculture
The Experimental Station for Smart Technologes in Agriculture is a federal research station tasked with the targeted expansion of digitalization opportunities in agriculture, with a focus on transferring technology to practice. The Experimental Station is a joint project of Agroscope, industry advisory center AGRIDEA, Canton Schaffhausen, and Canton Thurgau. Among current projects are tech for site-adapted nitrogen fertilization, steering system optimization, intelligent pest control, and plant sensors for irrigation efficiency.
