Wiiprob

Game & Wine Festival: Celebrate Autumn

Discover one of Canton Schaffhausen's most anticipated events, the wine tasting event Schafuuser Wiiprob. The whole region marks this event in their calendars, and it's a classic experience for anyone living here. Held annually at the end of August in the cloisters of the Museum zu Allerheiligen, this event brings together over 30 local wineries from the Schaffhausen Blauburgunderland to present their wines and products. At Wiiprob, you can taste, compare, and chat with the winemakers and producers to learn about the production, character and special features of their wines. In addition to the wine, you can also enjoy homemade "Zopf" loaves, farmhouse breads and other delicacies, as well as sparkling non-alcoholic beverages from the grape juice producers. The Blauburgunderland region, where the wineries are located, has consistently been one of the best wine-growing regions in German-speaking Switzerland, with multiple gold and silver medals from various wine competitions. All medal-winning wines can be tasted at Wiiprob

As the season changes, so does the local cuisine, with game meat becoming a popular option. The Game and Wine culinary festival is a perfect opportunity to experience the flavors of the season. Each autumn, several restaurants will serve exceptional game menus with matching wine accompaniments from the local Blauburgunderland. The festival aims to offer a unique and exquisite dining experience that sets itself apart from traditional restaurants, with each venue offering a gourmet menu centered around game meat, paired with a matching wine.
